Commercial:
- 24" TL size limit.
- Must be landed with heads and fins intact.
- Gear restrictions apply.
Recreational:
- Included in the 3 grouper per person bag limit, although no more than 1 fish may be gag or black grouper. See new recreational retention limits summary (PDF).

- Must be landed with head and fins intact. Purchase and sale is prohibited March and April.

New! Seasonal Closures:
A closure is in effect for the recreational and commercial harvest of all shallow water groupers, January through April beginning 2010. Shallow water groupers include:
- Black grouper
- Gag grouper
- Red grouper
- Scamp
- Red hind
- Rock hind
- Coney
- Graysby
- Yellowfin grouper
- Yellowmouth grouper
- Tiger grouper
