Agenda Highlights

Public Comment Sessions:  June 12, 2008 beginning at 4:14 PM

A public comment session for Amendment 15B to the Snapper Grouper Fishery Management Plan (includes measures to prohibit the sale of bag-limit snapper grouper species) will be held during the full Council meeting at 4:15 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2008. 

A public comment session for Amendment 16 to the Snapper Grouper Management Plan (management alternatives to end overfising of gag and vermilion snapper) will be held during the full Council meeting immediately following the public comment session for Amendment 15B (above).

The Council will hold public comment on a red snapper (Amendment 18) emergency rule or interim rule IF the Council proposes such action.  This comment period will take place immediately following the Amendment 16 comment session.

Note:  The Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8th and end at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10th. The Council Committee meetings will start at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9th and the Council meeting will end at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 13th. The Snapper Grouper Advisory Panel will meet on Wednesday, June 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
